Like the ups and downs of blood sugar, I spent years toggling back and forth between trying to outshine diabetes & also feeling depleted by the daily efforts of living with type 1 diabetes. For the longest time my approach to living a healthy life with T1D was primarily focused on the numbers, the tactile aspects of blood sugar management & overall physical health. It wasn’t until I incorporated yoga into my healthcare routine that I began to experience something unfamiliar to me:
balance between effort & ease
I followed the feeling as it led me deeper into the wisdom of yoga, beyond the posture (asana) practice. As I consistently practiced, studied, and embodied yoga, I experienced transformation in the way I related to diabetes + my overall health. This transformation contributed in allowing me to experience more harmony + consistency not only in the way I felt, but also in my overall T1D management + blood sugar levels. Yoga provided me lifelong foundation + simplicity in understanding how to approach living a healthy life with type 1 diabetes.
